Rudy`s Diner in Shenandoah

A long wait after ordering for food that is not worth it. Scrambled eggs were dry, potatoes were just cut up french fries, have never had coated scrapple. Food was not cold but not hot either.

Stopped in here for supper while on a road trip with a friend. Decor is nothing fancy, but the all of the fire fighting memorabilia is unique. I ordered the country fired steak and it was delicious! Perfectly cooked, crispy, and tender enough to cut with a fork. Sides were decent. Service was reasonable. For a great tasting meal that fills you up at a dine in restaurant for less than $10, not really anything bad I can say. I would definitely recommend this establishment if you are in the area. I could see this as a regularly visited restaurant if I lived in the area. Will eat there again next time my travels take me close.

If you're in the area and like burgers, try their western-bacon burger.

The Rudy salad was done right and very tasty. The burgers are freshly made and are in the top 10. The service was professional, friendly, and makes you want to keep coming back. Prices are good too. Very nice place for families and bikers too.

Oysters were very good. Crab cakes not so much. If you're going to make crab cakes with "fake" crab meat... what's the point?? And, the waitress recommended them! Yikes! Someone take that girl to a seafood restaurant so she knows what a crab cake is. My husband liked his bowl of potatoes topped with lots of other food. It didn't appeal to me, but he also likes meat out of a can. I would give this another try and be more careful about what I order. Nice decor, small town homey feel...So that works.

Service seemed friendly. There was only two in our party but we waited closed to an hour for our meal which wasn’t complicated. Food was good but I didn’t even get my complete meal. I would have said something but our waitress never came back plus it would have taken To long. We waited to long as it was and it wasn’t a big crowd.

Great service! Nice menu, and all the food was delicious. I also love their great appreciation and support for their fire department. I had their fried chicken; it was excellent!

This is my favorite place to go if I want to go out to eat somewhere nice with my husband. Their food is amazing and the service is some of the best. All of the servers know the menu inside and out and could most likely answer any questions about it. We haven’t been there in a month since we just had our baby but I always can’t wait to go back for another Reuben and sweet tea. If you’re looking for a great diner with amazing atmosphere and good sweet tea with your southern food, this is the place for you.

Our first time at Rudy's Diner. Very nice place to get your favorite comfort food. Lots to choose from on the menu. Service was friendly.

It wasn't busy but took 25 minutes to get breakfast but overall it was ok

Stopped in while on the road. Drove by and thought it looked like an excellent place for breakfast. And it was! I was stuffed afterward. And the pancakes are massive and delicious! The bacon was crispy as I had requested! The potatoes were done perfectly. Not mushy not crunchy! We had no complaints! The price was even well within the budget. Thanks Rudy's Diner! It was a stop well worth the time!

We were staying in the area at Blue Ridge GetAway in Rileyville. The owner Jerry, recommended the 20 minute drive for breakfast, and boy are we glad that we did. Very fresh homestyle food with large portions. The food arrival time after placing our order was a little slower than we are use to in the DMV area, but it was well worth the wait. Our waitress was super friendly and did a great job. We will most certainly visit again when we come back next year.

Rudy's Diner is the best place to get a "Real" meal anywhere in the area... The staff is amazing and friendly, the food is great matter what we'ce ordered and the pricing is far below what it should... My family and I go there atleast 2 times a month... Keep it up your doing great ( P.S. There rating should be a 5 NOT A 4.5 )

Great burgers. Good meatloaf. Fried apples. Yummm. Really good fries. Worth the detour off the interstate - the parking lot commonly known as I81. This is also one of the few places that the words "well done" do not equal shoeleather. Thank you again.

Excellent lunch, good selection

Heads up, they posted signs for restaurant precautions for COVID-19 but servers are not wearing masks or gloves and you can eat in. While renting a cottage for a few days, I ordered takeout fried chicken, green beans, pasta salad (but was given the macaroni salad), fried pickles, and handcut fries. Price was very good. Food was good southern style meal. The handcut fries were soggy and lacked salt. The macaroni salad was very tasty. I highly recommend the fried pickle spears with Rudy's sauce. They reminded me of an old Richmond favorite that shut down- Halligan's.

Great fried chicken. Had hand sanitizer at the table and followed covid-19 mandates.

Prompt customer service and a menu that leaves nobody out. The hand cut French fries are a must. Can't wait to get back there!

Great atmosphere and food. Love this place. Great breakfast too. My personal favorite. Scrapple and yes they have it.

Spacious diner. Friendly staff. Food tastes great and serving size was huge. None of us could finish our meals. Three of us had lunch with three drinks and one appetizer. Check was $39.02. We thought this was incredibly reasonable. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

I'd been wanting to try this diner for months after driving by repeatedly. I'm so glad we finally did! Service was excellent, food was delicious (although it took a little while to get it to the table.) Nice variety menu - the crab cakes topped some I've had at fine dining restaurants! Hand - cut fries were a treat, mac & cheese was like homemade! Burgers perfectly cooked to order. Amazing dessert options but only a couple were actually available, which was our biggest disappointment. Great atmosphere, casual dining, family friendly. This is an excellent MUST-TRY for locals and tourists alike! This is truly a dinner at its best. I can't wait to go back!

Great food, atmosphere and employees.

This place is a local gem that we came across for breakfast. The pancakes for the kids were spectacularly large. My pulled pork sandwich (lunch for breakfast) was fantastic. Service was great and the staff beyond friendly . If you're in the area this place is worth popping in to visit.

I had the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. Generous portions, excellent service, clean restaurant. Was there with my wife and her mom. They had the pork sandwich with fries and slaw. We had so many fries we took them home for a midnight snack.

Best burgers I ever ate Big & juicy. It a nice clean place to stop in and get a bite to eat . Mostly sandwiches no big meals . But it is definitely a great place you need to try.
